What came first, the emotion or the idea? Do ideas create emotions or vice verse? Whatever the answer, Necessity is still the Mother of Invention. Yes, invention causes necessity, too. But the Arrow of Time cannot be reversed - once the idea (or the invention) enters the realm of the Collective Consciousness, it cannot be undone. The Zen Buddhists say that "the event cannot be changed, only the way we perceive it". The Chinese character for "crisis" is formed with the one for "opportunity". This speaks volumes but the emotional associations with each word are very different, are they not? Our emotional state of mind, or mindset, influences the idea that emerges just as the idea influences the mindset. It's a vicious cycle. If our perspective of reality is an emotionally positive one then this "crisis" really is an opportunity, is it not? And in a reality inseparable from Free Will, then this perspective, this mindset, really is a choice.
We choose Opportunity.
